With a 120-year presence in the market, Zagorka is a symbol of long-standing brewing traditions and an example of high quality. In 1994, it joined the global HEINEKEN family—the most international brewer, operating in over 70 countries. As one of the most innovative companies in the industry, Zagorka is focused on modernization and operating sustainably and responsibly with care for the environment, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality. It accomplishes this by optimizing processes and increasing efficiency across the entire supply chain. Part of this strategy is the digitalization of the transport flow management process.
In less than six months, the LIREX TMS system for managing internal logistics was fully implemented and put into operation. “TMS completely met our expectations to improve efficiency, communication, and accountability in our workflow, and it provided a clear framework for the allocation of responsibilities and response times throughout the chain,” notes Iva Eneva, Transportation Manager at Zagorka.
One of the challenges Zagorka faced before the project was the efficiency of transport-related processes. Information exchange regarding transport operations was handled through numerous phone calls, emails, and schedules, which consumed a significant amount of employees’ time and delayed service operations. Some staff members were engaged in regulating logistical activities, further reducing the overall process efficiency. Since logistics processes are a core part of daily operations, a comprehensive solution was needed to optimize employee performance and digitalize the entire process. The main objectives of the project were to simplify work and accountability, improve communication and information exchange among those involved, and achieve real-time awareness.
The Zagorka team chose LIREX TMS due to several advantages offered by the system. One key benefit is that the software allows real-time management of brewery visits while automatically calculating and tracking key performance indicators. Additionally, the software integrates with the existing access control system, further enhancing safety through improved management of transport flow and individuals within the brewery. The software is intuitive and easily understood by users.
“LIREX TMS provided advantages that helped ensure safety and better traffic regulation in front of the brewery, improved accountability and clear distribution of responsibilities, freed up time for value-adding activities along the chain, and supported the improvement of our operations and work with suppliers,” adds Iva Eneva.
To ensure a smooth transition for employees to the new system, Lirex organized training sessions in groups with similar roles. Additionally, after implementation, support sessions were arranged to address emerging questions and monitor the resolution of real-time operational issues.
Following the successful implementation of LIREX TMS, Zagorka plans further upgrades and additional modernization to meet the company’s continuous growth and the ongoing need for efficiency improvements in logistical processes.
